How to make a New Year resolution
stick with Adventure Boot Camp!
It doesn’t feel like that long ago, that we were making “New Year” resolutions by the dozen. Marvelling at the thought of a new career, a new car or even losing weight, getting fit and running our first 10km?
The scary thing is, that was over a year ago and just how many of us have actually achieved our goals? The thought of making a change is exciting but for many it’s short-lived. As soon as the party is over and everyone has gone home its back to work, back to reality, and whatever resolutions are made are quickly forgotten.
However the secret behind setting goals, sticking to them and achieving them is to have a solid plan, you can action immediately. So if losing weight and getting fit is what you’ve set out to achieve in 2011, then you are in luck.
Adventure Boot Camp is a fun and exciting way to take advantage of your natural surroundings by exercising outdoors in a small group of women under the guidance of a personal trainer. Camps take place over four weeks, and ladies of all fitness levels can choose to attend 3/5 days a week for an hour a day in the morning or late afternoon. Ladies can choose from over 90 beautiful outdoor venues around South Africa.
Classes are specifically designed for ladies and include excersises such as short distance running, rope skipping, abs and core training, Pilates, obstacle courses, circuit training, weights, mat work, games and hiking. It’s a great way to network with other women and even make new friends. Progress can be tracked and a personalized eating plan downloaded by logging onto the website to help shed those extra kilos.
In 2010, Natasha Tromp, a mother of two from Cape Town, found out just how difficult it was to stick to her New Year resolution. She desperately wanted to lose weight, get fit and ultimately change her lifestyle. After entering and being selected as one of three finalists in the Loaded Adventure Boot Camp Challenge she went on to becoming the winner losing a whopping 8.1kg, 5.2% of her body fat, and a total of 39cm in just over three months. It wasn’t easy at all, but with much commitment and help from various sponsors that included, attending a Adventure boot Camp 5 days/week for 3 consecutive months, bi-weekly visits to a dietician, bi-weekly sessions with a life coach as well as skin and beauty consultants, she managed to not only achieve her goal but has continued to stick to it. Adventure Boot Camp will be opening the entries for this year’s Challenge in March so keep an eye on their website (www.adventurebootcamp.co.za) to make your New Year resolution a reality.
